METAMOR: An Art Plastic
In 2015, J.S. Nero began developing a handworked process of "lobing" and "sweeping" in conjunction with a proprietary resin formula. The goal, highly influenced by her background in stonework and stone sculpting, was to create a new reproducible material for use in furniture, lighting and object design applications where other metamorphic rock has been historically used. METAMOR aims to exaggerate the natural veining and cracking processes found in marble, stone, crystal, and other organic material using resins.
